“JLA: Inferno,” is a dramatic painting by Alex Ross that pays tribute to the original members of The Justice League of America: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter. This heroic alliance first joined forces to battle a starfish-like alien, Starro the Conqueror, in the comic Brave and Bold #28. A few years later in Justice League of America #9, DC Comics revealed the origins of the seven-member team, who united together to defeat the Appellaxians, an army of aliens who threatened to destroy Earth.
